How to Hack Windows XP Password with ERD Commander

Assuming that you have a copy of ERD Commander and an XP installation CD, you can use ERD Commander to reset the administrator password and regain access to your XP account. Here's how:

1. Boot from the ERD Commander CD.

2. Select the option to "Launch the Windows Recovery Environment".

3. In the "Windows Recovery Environment" menu, select the option to "Command Prompt".

4. At the command prompt, type the following commands:

cd \windows\system32

ren adminpak.dll adminpak.bak

copy cmd.exe sethc.exe

5. Reboot the computer.

6. When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press the Shift+F10 keys to open a command prompt.

7. At the command prompt, type the following commands:

copy c:\windows\system32\sethc.exe c:\

copy c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe c:\windows\system32\sethc.exe

8. Reboot the computer again.

9. When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press the Shift+F10 keys to open a command prompt.

10. At the command prompt, type the following command:

net user [username] [password] /add

11. Reboot the computer one last time.

12. At the "Welcome to Setup" screen, press the Enter key to begin the Windows XP setup process.

13. When prompted, enter the new username and password that you created in step 10.

14. Complete the Windows XP setup process.

15. Once Windows XP is up and running, you can delete the "sethc.exe" file from the C:\ directory and rename the "adminpak.bak" file back to "adminpak.dll" in the C:\windows\system32 directory.
